Concern raised about proposed Norman apartment building

There is already concern about a proposed apartment development in Norman.

It would be located across from Norman Park on Minnesota Street and have 32 units and a daycare on the ground floor.

The city says the proposal actually complies with the current zoning on the property.

But a number of variances a being asked for, mainly due to parking.

The city says the development would not impact Norman Park at all, and enhancements to the parking area would be for public use, to ease parking demands, especially during the summer months.

The apartment complex would also not have exclusive use of the parking area at the park.

Anyone who wishes to comment on the development can do so in writing by Friday, or they can register in advance by August 16th, if they want to speak at a virtual meeting by contacting: planning@kenora.ca and quote File Number, D13-24-06.
