A cornerstone of Kenora’s arts community has died.
Lucia Melnick passed away on Sunday at the age of 97.
She was instrumental in getting the Harbourfront Concert Series started and was involved in the Lake of the Woods Concert Group and was one of the longest serving presidents of the Kenora Festival of the Arts.
Melnick came to Canada from the Netherlands as a war bride.
City council paid special to Lucia at their Committee of the Whole meeting this week.
