Kenora is alive with energy this week, offering a mix of community spirit, seasonal celebration, and spooky fun. Here’s your guide to what’s happening:
Rally for Children’s Mental Health
Date: October 17–18
Location: Moncrief Construction Sports Centre
Schedule Highlights:
- Friday, October 17
- 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Meet & Greet with Winnipeg Jets Alumni and Friends
- 7:30 PM: Opening remarks and community welcome
- All evening: Silent auction and refreshments
- Saturday, October 18
- 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Family Fun Day with games, activities, and wellness booths
- 12:00 PM: Youth hockey showcase featuring local teams and alumni
- 2:30 PM: Mental health panel discussion with educators and advocates
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM: Closing celebration and community wrap-up
This two-day event is hosted by Triple P.L.A.Y and features the return of the Winnipeg Jets Alumni and Friends. Proceeds support Project 11, a mental health wellness program for students across First Nation, Keewatin Patricia, and Kenora Catholic schools. Created in memory of NHL player Rick Rypien, Project 11 helps normalize conversations about mental health and teaches coping strategies to kids from kindergarten to Grade 12.

Reddit’s Hallowe’en Haunt
Date: October 17–18
When: 5-8 PM | 3-7 PM
Location: Reddit Community Centre
Now in its third year, this haunt promises to be the biggest and spookiest yet. Expect eerie decorations, interactive scares, and family-friendly frights. It’s a great way to kick off the Halloween season with a mix of fun and fear.
Reddit’s 3rd Annual Hallowe’en Haunt – Your Kenora
Witches’ Walk – Downtown Pub Crawl
Date: October 18
When: 6 PM – 11 PM
Location: Downtown Kenora
The 4th Annual Witches Walk is a ticketed pub crawl supporting The Leo Project, which helps fund emergency vet care and local pet shelters. This year’s theme is Harry Potter, so grab your wand and dress as your favourite magical character. With stops at Shooters Bar, The Cave, The Vault, and more, plus food trucks and themed drinks, it’s a night of enchantment for a great cause. Tickets range from $20 to $40.
Witches Walk Kenora – Your Kenora
Kenora Fall Festival
Date: October 19
When: 12 PM – 5 PM
Location: Mount Evergreen Ski Hill
Celebrate autumn with carnival games, craft booths, pumpkin decorating, live music, and delicious food. Entry is just $5 (kids under 2 get in free). Supported by Tourism Kenora, this festival is a perfect outing for families and friends to enjoy the season’s colours and community spirit.

Whether you’re rallying for youth wellness, getting spooked at the Reddit Centre, pub-crawling in wizard robes, or soaking up fall vibes at Evergreen, Kenora has something for everyone this week. Stay safe, have fun!
