Cree Man’s Dream Of A Walmart Bag Ribbon Shirt Becomes Reality

A vision in a dream has now spawned a unique fashion statement.

A member of Red Pheasant Cree Nation in Saskatchewan, recently dreamt of being at powwow grounds and seeing people around him wearing ribbon shirts made of…reusable Walmart shopping bags.

This man then decide to reach out to his uncle, who actually runs a powwow regalia making business, who then told him that he could make the dream a reality.

It apparently only took this talented and skillful man between four and five hours and 13 bags to craft a shirt for his nephew.

The nephew with the dream is also the creator of a social media brand called “Off The Rez” which specialize in original comedy content with an Indigenous twist. Currently, Off The Rez has over 260,000 followers on Facebook and more than 313,000 followers on TikTok.

The uncle has now gone on to also crafted pants for powwow regalia out of No Frills bags.
