Dry weather results in more decreases at Norman Dam

The Lake of the Woods Control Board continues to derease outflow through the Norman Dam.

Three more reductions have been authorized.

The first was yesterday, and there will also be ones on Monday and next Wednesday.

This is all to draw down water levels this fall heading into winter.

Last week, the lake went down 4 centimeters and is expected to be stable, or drop another 2 centimeters in the coming seven days.

The Control Board says it’s very dry across the drainage basin in the past week, and inflows into the lake are expected to continue to decrease.
