Area hockey players will be in the spotlight this coming weekend.
The Fort Frances Lakers and the Red Lake Miners are partnering to host a Northwestern Ontario Junior Hockey Showcase.
It is the first of its kind for this region.
It is designed to showcase junior-eligible players to junior teams across North America.
Players from northwestern Ontario, Manitoba and northern Minnesota will be on hand.
Participants will be separated into four teams that will be play ten games over the weekend.
The event will take place at the Memorial Sports Centre in Fort Frances, beginning this Friday.
Spectators interested can attend at no cost.
