Fog advisory in effect across parts of Northwestern Ontario

Environment Canada has issued a fog advisory for several regions in Northwestern Ontario this morning, warning of near-zero visibility in some areas.

The advisory covers Ear Falls, Perrault Falls, Western Lac Seul, Sioux Lookout, Savant Lake, Kenora, Nestor Falls, Dryden, and Vermilion Bay.

A fog advisory already in place for the Red Lake and Woodland Caribou Park area remains in effect.

Forecasters say visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero in some spots.

Drivers are being cautioned that travel could be hazardous and to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop if needed.

The fog is expected to lift later in the morning as conditions improve. Until then, motorists are urged to allow extra time for travel and use caution in areas where visibility drops.
