Ford and Unifor call on feds to support more rail cars

Premier Doug Ford and Unifor have released a joint statement about federal funding for rail cars for the Toronto Transit System.

They want the feds to announce it’s committment to the project.

The rail cars are built at the Alstom plant in Thunder Bay.

Ford says the provincial government has already pledged $758 million for new subway trains, but the funding is contingent on getting federal funding.

The premier and Unifor are calling on the federal government to offer workers in Thunder Bay the certainty and stability they deserve.
