Ghouls, Giggles, and Ghostly Good Times!

October in Kenora is crawling with creepy charm and frightful fun. Whether you’re into haunted houses, candy-fueled car trunk adventures, or just looking for a reason to wear your skeleton onesie in public, we’ve got you covered. Here’s your guide to the eeriest events happening around town:

Reddits 3rd Annual Hallowe’en Haunt

Location: Reddit Community Centre, Kenora

  • October 24th: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • October 25th: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
  • October 26th: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Back for its third year, this haunt is not for the faint of heart, or the easily startled. Expect jump scares, fog machines, and volunteers who take their zombie roles a little too seriously. Perfect for thrill-seekers and scream queens alike. Bonus points if you make it through without clutching your friend’s arm like a lifeline.

Mather-Walls Haunted House

Location: 1116 Ottawa Street, Keewatin (Kenora)

  • October 24th: 6:00 PM – 8:15 PM
  • October 25th: 6:00 PM – 8:15 PM

Step into history with a side of horror. This Victorian-era home transforms into a maze of mystery and mayhem, complete with creaky floors, ghostly whispers, and maybe a spectral resident or two. From 6:00–7:00 PM, the lights stay on for a gentler scare. After 7:00 PM, it’s full fright mode—enter if you dare.

Treaty #3 Trunk or Treat

Location: Kenora Recreation Centre Parking Lot

Date: October 30th

Time: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Who needs haunted houses when you’ve got haunted hatchbacks? Local families and organizations deck out their car trunks with spooky scenes and hand out treats to costumed kiddos. It’s safe, silly, and surprisingly creative—think candy meets Pinterest meets Halloween fever dreams.
