Highway 17 west of Kenora open again

The Trans-Canada Highway has been re-opened.

The OPP says poor winter weather and road conditions closed Highway 17 for several hours Saturday morning.

There were whiteouts, blowing snow, icy road surfaces which resulted in multiple collisions involving semi-trucks, Highway 17

No serious injuries have been reported as a result of the collisions.

Highway 17-A has also been re-opened after being closed for a couple of hours.

Kenora OPP advise motorists traveling on Highway 17 west of Kenora to exercise caution near Sherwood Lake, as semi-trucks are currently being towed from the ditch.

Kenora OPP officers remain on scene and are directing traffic.
