Hospital looking at surgical options in the wake of flooding

A couple of options are being explored to conduct surgeries scheduled for Lake of the Woods District Hospital.

The surgical suites were damaged by flooding last month, so the hospital is looking at how deal with the situation.

Over the next couple of weeks, surgeries scheduled for the hospital will be moved to other surgical suites across the region.

The surgeries would be conducted when the suites are not in use, and a team of surgeons, anesthetists and nurses are available.

Another option being looked at is setting up a temperatory surgical suite.

The hospital says this requires much planning and is working with the Ontario Emergency Medical Assistance Team.
