Impaired driver charged with collision

The Kenora OPP have charged a driver responsible for a collision near the Keewatin Channel Bridge.

Police were contacted about a potentially impaired driver Sunday afternoon around 4:00 heading east on Highway 17.

The vehicle was later involved in the accident.

The driver had been drinking alcohol and taken to the Kenora Detachment for further testing.

He faces impaired driving charges and as a a charge of dangerous driving.

His vehicle was impounded for seven days and was given a 90-day driver’s license suspension.
