Job numbers fall again in August; StatsCan

The number of people looking for work went up again in August.

Canada’s unemployment rate rose by two-tenths of a percentage to 7.1 percent, according to StatsCan.

That’s a loss of 66,000 jobs, mostly due to a decline in part-time work, full-time jobs were steady.

Ontario saw the largest drop, 26,000 jobs.

The nationwide trend continues, as July recorded 41,000 job losses.
