June hotter and drier than normal

If it felt hotter than usual last month, you’re not wrong.

Environment Canada says the daily mean temperature in June was 19.9 Celsius.

That’s over three degrees warmer than usual (16.8 degrees).

In terms of rain, it was also drier than normal.

The Kenora Airport recorded 48 millimeters of precipitation last month.

Our average is 119.

Environment Canada says we can expect warmer than normal conditions again this month, and lower than normal rainfall in the far north.
