By Jim Mowrey, Jun Laffin and James Tkachyk
Wednesday Morning Ladders : Another great day in paradise.. The weather was great, the pickleball play was very inconsistent. In Group 1, it wasn’t until the 5th game before there was a close game. Lots of low scores.. not normal for group 1. Dave Harrison edged out Murray Bamforth by 1 point for #1 spot. John Burgelis was undefeated until the 5th game when he and his partner got pickled ( lost 11-0 for those that don’t know )…things do change fast.
Group 2 also had lots of lopsided scores. Larry Leroux went undefeated… not an easy thing to do.. good job. Jim O’Hearn is slowly moving up the ladder.
Charmaine Fregeau came back strong after missing two weeks of pickleball, only losing one game 11-8 in Group 3. Darrell Durling has returned strong after not playing any pickleball all summer… good job.
In Group 4, Wendy Cuthbert has finally broken out of her slump and has the top score. She only lost 2 games with identical 11-9 scores. Sharon Prender, in her first Ladders morning, must have done very well because she was all smiles after the games were over… so nice to see.
Dave Harrison is our “A & W Player of the Day” winning top spot in Group 1… well done Dave. Enjoy the A & W meal.
Wednesday Evening Ladders:
Here is Jun’s report… I didn’t change a word… honest !!
The Boston Pizza MVP is Jim Mowrey! He played 2 ladders yesterday and still finished strong on court 3!
He helps us to fill our last-minute cancellation spots so we can have a nice, even-numbered ladder. Thank you, Jim!
Awww Jun, thank you. Annie and I will enjoy the Pizza and maybe a tall beer on tap…. Nice. Thank You
Jun Laffin and Jitendra came out winners on Court 1, defeating Rob Scatliff and Jason Toth in a very long game.
One more thing.. Please be there by 5:45 next week. You know who I’m talking to! 😉
