Wednesday Morning Ladders: Chilly Chilly Chilly.. Wednesday morning was the coldest day of Pickleball this summer, but there was NO wind. It is getting close to the last days of outdoor ladders so we played a version of Royal Court. If you keep winning games you move into the Royal Court. You keep changing partners on your way UP, or DOWN. I didn’t keep track of the winning players so no awards were given out. We are getting ready for indoor Pickleball.
Wednesday Evening Ladders: It was a little chilly, and it started raining, but we squeezed in 5 games with 24 people on Wed Eve Ladders.
Our “Player of the Day” was KATIE LAUFENBERG. She moved up 9spots and won the second courts at the end of the night.
If the weather is still nice and we have enough daylight, we will have ladders next week.
Thursday Morning Ladders: I needed a coffee to warm up after pickleball this morning and before I drafted up my summary of play for the morning. At one point I was warm but before leaving the courts I was not. It did not help that Group 3 decided to play an extra 45 minutes longer then the other groups. I wondered what the heck are those guys doing today? Are they sad that the outdoor season is almost over and just wanted to spend more time on the courts with each other?
In total we had 25 members out this morning. 6 of those members happened to be guests to our Thursday Group. Chris Ashley and Orlo Mejia (regular guests), Minaki Joe (I realize I don’t know Joe’s last name) and the 3 amigas (female friends) Laurie Dufresne, Jan Eshmade, and Cindy Wilson, none of which are actually Spanish. Thank you for coming out and playing today.
Group 1 top player this week was Lilian Lontra. Group 2 top player was Jan Eshmade, and Group 3 had Eric Brown with the most points. The players advancing most today were Paulette Michalchuk and Judy Vivian, both whom I have recently mentioned before for their outstanding play.
