Wednesday Morning Ladders : Finally the weather gave us a break with a beautiful Kenora morning. In Group One, Julie Pellerin was the big winner for the second time this year.. Good job Julie. I slipped down the grouping this time but I must be getting old. In Group Two, the top player was Claudine Cordeiro who outlasted a strong field of Pickleballers. Claudine won a $25 gift voucher from 901 Westside Restaurant as our Player of the Day.
Wednesday Evening Ladders: We had heavy rain just before our ladders, but with all the help drying up the courts quickly, we were able to start on time. Thank you!
Our winner of a 13” Pizza from Boston Pizza for Player of the Night was Derek Hollbrow. After not being able to play due to his back surgery and recovery, he came back strong and finished with a win on top court! Welcome back, Derek! Derek and Jun Laffin won top spot with a victory over the father daughter team of Danielle Toth and Jason Toth.
Thursday Morning Ladders – Under cloudy skies and with cooler temperatures and a good Northwest wind, 30 players hit the courts for another attempt to climb. In Group 1, it was Murray Bamforth keeping his spot at the top. Group 2 the winner is Catherine Jones with a perfect score and Group 3 had Brenda Tkachyk finishing with the high score. Group 4’s winner is Judy Cottam.
The Boston Pizza player of the week goes to Brenda Tkachyk for winning group 3 and having the largest move upward.
