Kentucky man fined for overfishing

An American angler has been fined for having 34 walleye over his limit.

Larry Maples from Kentucky was fishing on Greystone Lake near Ignace in June of 2024.

Thunder Bay conservation officers were conducting an inspection near the Pigeon River border crossing.

They found 21 bags of frozen, skinless fish.

He has been fined $6,700 and is not allowed to possess an Ontario fishing license, or fish in the province for six years.
