KPDSB expects to start construction on new school next year

Construction on a new building for Valleyview School likely won’t start until next year.

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says preliminary construction and site preparation for the replacement school may begin as early as 2027.

An announcement of $21.4 million for the new school was made last week.

That was just days after the province pledged $1.6 billion for Ontario’s capital budget for schools this year.

Chair of the school board Roger Griffiths says, “this is something we have been hoping for and working toward for many years, and to see this vision becoming a reality is incredibly exciting”.
