Lac Seul Police arrest suspect on firearm charges

The Lac Seul Police have arrested a 22-year-old man after receiving a complaint of shots being fired.

The incident took place late last month near a bridge on Kejick Bay Road.

Two men were hunting geese, when a person drove up on a sport utility vehicle, stopped a discharged his rifle.

He then pointed the firearm at one of the hunters then fled the scene.

Police were able to locate the vehicle at a home in the community and seized a rifle.

The suspect faces charges of pointing firearm, careless use of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He’ll appear in court at the end of the month on the charges.
