Lake of the Woods expected rise slightly

The water level of Lake of the Woods is expected to rise a bit.

The Lake of the Woods Secretariat is forecasting a one to five centimetre increase over the next week.

Severe thunderstorms in the northern part of the lake brought heavy, localized rainfall, but only a temporary rise in the lake level.

The Secretariat says that this is being offset by a lack of rain expected over the next several days.

As a result, no change is being made to the lake’s outflows.

Lake of the Woods is still below the normal range for this time of year.
