Final day of the Kenora Rotary Splash Park
Today is the last day to enjoy the Kenora Rotary Splash Park, as it will shut down tomorrow to begin winterizing the water features.
So why not take the family over today to get dumped by the water bucket and enjoy some ice cream? It looks like the weather will clear this morning. There’s a bit of wind, but the temperature will rise to 26 C.
Do you have a favourite memory from the splash park?
Road detours
There are some short-term one-way road detours in the Ninth Street North area, which will start at 9 a.m. and last until 3 p.m.
- Westbound traffic will be detoured onto Scramble Avenue.
- Eastbound traffic will be detoured onto Main Street Rideout.
Once the sidewalk project is completed, the detour will return to Main Street Rideout for all motorists.

School sports
Last Thursday, the St. Thomas Aquinas High School Saints travelled to Red Lake to compete in the Northwestern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (NorWOSSA) Championship, and they did an incredible job.
The boys’ team won gold, finishing in first place, which means they’ll be competing in Fort Frances tomorrow for a chance to qualify for OFSAA. Pretty exciting!
The girls’ teams placed silver, which is just as impressive. I’m sure families are super proud of their kids who competed last week, and it only moves forward from here.
Good luck to the boys’ team heading to NWOSSAA!
