Lake of the Wood Brewing Co. Rib Fest begins

The Lake of the Woods Brewing Company Rib Fest began yesterday and continues through the weekend, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. It takes place at the Brewer’s Village at 1415 Valley Dr. in Kenora.

There are two big BBQ rib trucks: Boss Hoggs with Authentic Southern BBQ, and Casa Fuego, a Latin Ranch BBQ. They a variety of food options including ribs, pulled pork, chicken, brisket, smoked sausage, mac and cheese, corn bread, baked beans and creamy coleslaw.

I ordered a half rack of ribs and a mac and cheese from Boss Hoggs, and the ribs were savoury, sweet, and all-around satisfying to eat!

Yesterday, Red Moon Road gave their live music performance between 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and North Shore performs live on stage today. Red Moon Road’s performance was amazing — their vocals were on point and they had great commentary throughout the night.

There is also axe throwing running throughout the weekend, and on Sunday is a kids’ fun day! The full day is dedicated to the kids, with gem stone bouncy castles, polar bear water slides. It’s $5 per child for unlimited bounces and slides.

Don’t forget to check out vendors and food trucks like Sweet Lake of the Woods and the Ye Olde Chip Truck!
