Local sports for Sunday, October 19th

The Sioux Lookout Bombers have maintained first place in the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

The Bombers swept the Ironwood Lumberjacks in both games they played over the weekend.

Saturday night, the Bombers cruised to a 9-1 victory and following a 6-1 decision Friday night.

Hot on their heels are the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.

The Dogs won both of their games over the weekend, including a 4-1-win Saturday night over the Kam River Fighting Walleye.

On Friday night, Dryden doubled up the Walleye 4-2.

The Red Lake Miners and the Thunder Bay North Stars split their two-game weekend series, with the North Stars winning 2-1 Saturday, and the Miners taking the Friday contest 4-3.

The Fort Frances Lakers were idle.

The game of the week is on Tuesday, when the Bombers host the Ice Dogs.
