LWCB authorizes two decreases at the Norman Dam

The Lake of the Woods Control Board says a return to winter-like conditions over the past week has slowed the spring melt.

As a result water levels on the lake have dropped over the past week by a couple of centimeters and are expected to drop another centimeter or so next week.

Because of the conditions, the Control Board has authorized a couple of small decreases in outflow from the Norman Dam.

The first will take place today, and there will be another similar reduction next Tuesday.

As a result, levels on the Winnipeg River will decrease about 5 centimeters below the dam and 2 centimeters at the Dalles.
