Three framed Christmas cards by the beloved Canadian folk artist were reported stolen from a home in Halifax in late November.

The 7″ x 5″ cards are matted and framed.

Investigators say they are each believed to be valued in excess of ten thousand dollars.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area to call 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at crimestoppers.ns.ca or using the P3 Tips App.

In the 1940s, Lewis began selling her colourful paintings outside her home along a highway in southwestern Nova Scotia. Two of her works were commissioned for the White House in the 1970s.

According to Wikipedia, one Lewis painting, called Black Truck, sold at auction in Toronto in 2022 for $350,000.

Despite her recognition, she died in poverty in 1970.
