MPs return to Ottawa as Parliament resumes

MPs are back in Ottawa as the House of Commons resumes, with trade and the economy expected to be major themes this session.

The fall budget is due in October and is likely to drive debate in the weeks ahead.

The government is expected to face questions on cost-of-living issues, spending priorities, and trade relations.

This session also marks the return of Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, who re-enters Parliament after winning a byelection last month.

His presence is expected to sharpen exchanges across the aisle as parties position themselves ahead of the fall budget.
