It’s National Non‑Smoking Week, which means it’s the perfect time to talk about the habit that 3.6 million Canadians still haven’t broken.
That’s about 11% of us… or, basically, half of Quebec. (Look, I’m just saying every time I’ve been there, someone’s lighting up. Could be coincidence. Could be science. Probably not science.)
But seriously, smoking is still Canada’s #1 cause of preventable disease, and one in four teens are suddenly into vaping like it’s in style. When did that memo go out? I thought vaping was uncool?
The good news: we’ve come a long way from the 50% of Canadians who smoked in 1965. And if you are ready to quit, Allen Carr’s Easy Way really does help people stomp out the habit (speaking from experience!)
Best part, you can even smoke while you read it!
And hey, if you want smoke‑free entertainment, tune into the afternoon drive with me, Caleb, Mon–Fri 2–6pm on 89.5 the Lake.
