Ontario is getting a new area code.
942 will be added to 416,437, 647, which are the three existing area codes in southern Ontario.
The Telecommunications Alliance, which is made up of many the major cell phone companies operating in Canada, say the new area code is necessary to meet the growing demand for new phone numbers.
The new area code will be introduced gradually, and some new numbers may still be assigned using the old area codes, until all the numbers are used up.
The new area code will be added on April 26th.
