There’s a new chief on the Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation (Dalles).
Elijah Jameson won out over two other contenders.
Jameson replaces long time chief Lorraine Cobiness, who passed away this past November.
On band council, Martina Strong had the most votes, followed by Leanne Cobiness, Fabien Blackhawk and Joshua Sagutch.
Both Cobiness and Blackhawk were re-elected.
