NOHFC provides funding to hire interns

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is providing almost $9 million so local business and agencies can hire interns.

The funding comes from the Workforce Development Program.

A total of 266 positions is being created through the internship fund.

Up to $35,000 is available, with matching contributions, from the recipient.

Some of the groups this year to receive funding are Lakehead University, the Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce and the Mitaanjigamiing First Nation.
