NOMA and FONOM in Ottawa to advance key issues

A couple of municipal organizations representing northern Ontario are in Ottawa this week to present the most pressing issues facing towns and cities in this region.

A delegation representing the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association and the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities and meeting with officials from the Carney Government.

They have drafted a list of 5 key issues they want the government to address.

That includes modernizing Highway 11 and 17, rural and northern immigration and workforce growth.

Other issues they want to address are bail reform and natural resources and economic growth.

The meetings are taking place today and tomorrow.
