An Ontario artist is working in the medium of MEAT!
Barbara Salsberg Mathews, from Guelph, used to paint, but after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, she found that working with a paintbrush was becoming too difficult, so she turned to food!
Meat is her specialty, But she also uses vegetables, pasta and other items from the grocery store.
Her creations are modelled after political figures and they tend to be ones that are known to make people a little salty.

Barbra believes that her artwork, acts as a way of addressing tough political topics with a sense of humour.
She reiterates that none of it is meant to offend people. Instead, it is intended to spark a laugh or maybe even give people some food for thought.
