Ontario Liberal MP Marco Mendicino has announced he will not seek re-election.
In his statement, Mendicino explains the decision is the right one for him and his family.
“As much as I love the job, this is the right decision, at the right time, for me and my family,” Mendicino said.
The statement elaborated on his disagreements with the government’s foreign policy, particularly concerning Israel and Gaza.
“In political parties, there must be room for different views,” Mendicino said.
He thanked community leaders and residents for their support and plans to continue helping the city.
