OPP continues to hold Anicinabe Park Scene

The Kenora OPP are still waiting for the Special Investigations to begin their investigation of the incident at Anicinabe Park.

The SIU confirms it is sending investigators after an OPP officer fatally shot a man yesterday afternoon.

In the meantime, the City of Kenora has already put in an insurance claim on the office building that was destroyed by fire.

Fire chief Dave Pratt confirms arson is the likely cause of the fire, but can’t get into the burnt wreckage to determine the point of the fire’s origin until the SIU is finished with it’s investigation.

The entry into the park is still closed off until the investigation is concluded, but an alternate entrance has been set up.
