Outflow increases okayed at Norman Dam

As freeze up gets closer, the Lake of the Woods Control Board says it’s moving to draw down water levels.

To that end, three increases in outflow from the Norman Dam have been approved.

The first is today, the second in next Tuesday, and there will be another one next Thursday.

That will increase water levels on the Winnipeg River director below the dam by 4 centimeters, and one centimeter at the Dalles after each of the changes in outflow.

In the past week, Lake of the Woods was fairly stable, but could increase anywhere from 3 centimeters or decrease 1 centimeter over the next seven days.
