Outflow reduction ordered

Lake of the Woods Control Board is reducing outflow from the lake into the Winnipeg River.

That’s because of the extremely dry weather and the water supply into the lake is declining.

As a result, outflow from the Norman Dam will be dropped today and tomorrow to maintain stable lake levels.

By Saturday, the river below the dam is expected to go down by 21 centimeters and 12 centimeters at the Dalles.

Overall lake levels are starting to taper off, increasing 3.4 centimeters over the past week, and just over one centimeter over the next seven days.
