Pikangikum officially opens new senior’s complex

A new seniors complex has been officially opened on the Pikangikum First Nation.

The Knowledge Keepers Elder Complex is made up of 20 one-bedroom apartments, with a kitchen, living room and a sun deck.

The Canada Mortage and House Corporation and Indigenous Services Canada provided $7.3 million to help build the complex.

The fly-in community is about 85 kilometers north of Red Lake.
