The west end of the Rainy River District is without power.
Hydro One says the area between Emo, Rainy River and up to Morson are in the dark.
About 2,100 customers are affected.
Hydro One says the cause of the outage is still under investigation and estimates electricity will be restored by 2 this afternoon.
