The long-awaited Toy Story 5 just hit theatres yesterday, seven years since the last one, and Taylor Swift released a song that’s stirring up emotions.
After sitting through a screening of the film, she wrote and recorded “I Knew It, I Knew You” in just eight hours.
The very first Toy Story came out in 1995, so this isn’t just a franchise for the kids of today’s generation, but also for the generations before. Taylor was one of those kids.
She watched the first movie when she was five and has “always dreamed of getting to write for these characters…” according to Variety.
In my opinion, this song perfectly fits the movie. It has that nostalgic, simple, country vibe and fans agree. Some comments under the video say “country Taylor is back,” while others note the song feels like a mix of Taylor’s earlier work.

Directed by Andrew Stanton, co-directed by Kenna Harris and produced by Lindsey Collins, Toy Story 5 is already pulling in strong reviews, currently with a 94 per cent critics and audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
