Province helps with hospital flooding

The provincial government is helping to bring in a Mobile Health Unit to Kenora to ease some of the pressures caused by flooding.

That’s according to Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford.

He says the Ministry of Health is working with the hospital to ensure surgical services are restored.

A broken water pipe on the fourth floor caused significant damage to several departments, including the surgical suites.

The Mobile Health Unit will allow rehabilitation services to be located there, freeing up room for a temporary operating room.

Insurance is expected to cover the cost the unit.
