Man killed on Highway 17 identified by provincial police

The provincial police have identified the person who lost their life in a collision on Highway 17 west of English River.

Last Thursday, emergency services responded to a collision between a commercial motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

The person who died has been identified as a 58-year-old male from Scugog Township north of Oshawa.

The highway was closed for just under eight hours.

The investigation into the matter remains ongoing, but the provincial police says charges are not currently being considered.
