Recent rains increase water levels on Lake of the Woods

Outflows from Lake of the Woods through the Norman Dam will be increased next week.

That’s because recent rains have pushed water levels up on the lake.

Over the past week, The Lake of the Woods Control Board says water levels increased by 2 centimeters and are expected to rise 1 to 3 centimeters over the next seven days.

The next increase in outflow will take place next Wednesday.

As a result, water levels before the Norman Dam will increase 8 centimeters, and 2 centimeters at the Dalles.

The control board adds the Kenora Powerhouse will be down for maintenance next Wednesday as well, so there will be additional water fluctuations that day below the dams.
