Remains of Grassy Narrows man found

The remains of a Grassy Narrows resident who was reported missing in October have been found.

Provincial Police says the remains were found this week in the area of Washagamis Bay First Nation.

A postmortem examination confirmed them to be those of Mekhi Pelly, who also goes by the name of Mehki Scott.

The 21-year-old had been reported missing on October 26th.

Provincial Police initially charged 24-year-old Terrance Cherry with committing an indignity to a dead body.

An additional charge of first-degree murder was added last month.

43-year-old Una Cherry was also arrested for being an accessory to murder.
