Rickford wins Kenora-Rainy River Riding

The incumbent MPP for the Kenora-Rainy River Riding easily won his seat.

Progressive Conservative candidate Greg Rickford took almost 60 percent of the votes cast.

“I’m just incredibly grateful and humbled by the constituents of Kenora-Rainy River,” said Rickford after he was declared the winner.

“I appreciate all the candidates that put their name on those signs, but our team was extraordinary. We worked hard every single day and I’m very pleased with the results.”

He adds there was one main issue that dominated discussion at the door.

“The Trump tariffs were the top line. We knocked on over, I guess, seven thousand doors. Obviously, I spent a lot more time talking to constituents, and it was the top of the list. Obviously, there were other things that were on people’s minds, but that was the big thing.”

Rudy Turtle of the NDP was a distant second more than 7,200 votes behind, followed by Anthony Leek of the Liberals.
