Atikokan’s Alex Sampson is off to the next round of America’s Got Talent
Sampson was one of three acts voted by the public to perform in the semi-final.
The singer, who has wooed the judges with two original songs with a 50s feel, was the among the top five favourites from Tuesday’s live performances before host Terry Crews called his name as the first to advance.
Sampson was speechless when Crews asked how he felt about moving on.
The live semi-final show will air on NBC on September 10th, with the results from the public vote to air the next night.
Six acts from that show will advance to the final scheduled for September 17th.
They will join four others who received golden buzzers issued by the judges during the quarter-final rounds.
