Last night, the skies over Northwestern Ontario lit up in a spectacular display of the aurora borealis, and we’re thrilled to see your submissions rolling in! A huge thank you to Sarah Whorpole and Antrmo1972 for capturing and sharing their stunning shots of the northern lights. These glowing ribbons of green, purple, and pink shimmered across the sky, reminding us of nature’s quiet magic.
Auroras are caused by charged particles from the sun interacting with Earth’s magnetic field, and when conditions are just right clear skies, solar activity, and a bit of luck, we’re treated to a celestial show that feels almost otherworldly. Whether you’re a seasoned night-sky photographer or just happened to glance up at the right moment, we’d love to see your view. If you snapped a photo last night or have a favourite aurora memory, send it our way at info@yourkenora.ca or info@yourborderland.ca and we might feature it in our next post!
