SIJHL approves move of Lumberjacks franchise

The Superior International Hockey League will begin play in a little under a month.

Canadian teams will have a different location to travel to in the US.

The board of the SIJHL has approved the move of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks, from Spooner to Ironwood, Michigan.

It will mean a slightly longer road trip, just under 6 hours, compared to 5 hours from Thunder Bay.

The league will start the regular season on September 13th, with the Ironwood Lumberjacks hosting their first home game against the Red Lake Miners
