Sioux Lookout Airport joins “Not in my City”

A new program aimed at cracking down on human trafficking has another partner.

The Sioux Lookout Airport has joined the campaign called Not in My City.

Airport manager Ben Hancharuk says staff will take training and learn to identify signs of human trafficking.

He adds that any chance to reduce or prevent sexual exploitation and trafficking is something they have to take advantage of.

A number of airports, municipalities and First Nations in Canada have joined on to the initiative.

Hancharuk it’s important to note that human trafficking isn’t just a big city problem, it can happen in smaller communities as well.
