SIU discontinues investigation in Dryden

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit says it has discontinued its investigation into an injury suffered by a 21 year old woman in Dryden.

The SIU says back in May, a woman jumped from the overpass in Drdyen to the train tracks below.

Prior to her jumping, an OPP officer tried for get her to step away from the railing.

But about 21 seconds after police arrived, she jumped and suffered a number of leg fractures and possible spinal and nerve damage.

The SIU based on preliminary inquiries and a review of video footage of the incident, it determined police were not responsible for her injuries.
